Primary 2 is a happy place to be!

In St. Joseph's we have two Primary two classes. Our teachers are Mrs Awada and Mrs O'Neill/Miss Murray. We are always so busy in Primary Two.  Come in and  visit  us and you will see!! In the mornings we have structured play where we learn lots of things in fun ways.

We paint beautiful art work for our displays and to take home to our families. We also get to sort things out and learn about maths using games. We play together in  our role play corner- sometimes we can be a waiter, rainforest explorer, campsite owner, x-factor judge or shopkeeper.

We do lots of reading in P2. We take time to share big books together, where we learn all about words, sentences and language.  We look for shouting marks, capital letters and chat about our favourite characters. We also can read in our groups or by ourselves and take books home to share with our family.

We  are great at Problem Solving in Primary Two. We have been learning a lot about taking away and adding. We are learning our number stories.

We  work together in groups to discover lots of things about maths and science. In Technology we make lots of things- we are very inventive!! We evaluate our work with our classmates. We made AMAZING hospital projects at home. They are displayed in the classroom.

We learn all about the world around us now and in the past. We find out all about people all over the world as well as in our area. At the moment we are learning about the Post Office. We received lovely letters from our parents which were read out in the class.

We also learn how important it is to be kind and caring to each other because we want P2 to be a happy place all the time.
